Meet Sean

Where are you from originally? If not from LA, how did you end up here?
Originally, I am from Silicon Valley. I moved to Playa del Rey to attend Loyola Marymount University and have stayed ever since.
Tell us about your occupation.
As an IT and Cybersecurity Expert, I work as an IT Director For Hire, serving businesses with 5-100 employees, primarily in the Greater Los Angeles Area. For over ten years, I have helped businesses with all of their information technology needs ranging from computer setups to fast WiFi, easy to understand user training, user management, computer and network management, mobile device management, robust cybersecurity, hardware procurement, IT infrastructure upgrades, new office IT infrastructure buildouts, VOIP communication systems, business IT plan formation, computer maintenance, password management, and support.
Why did you join Rotary and what is your favorite Rotary experience?
My first Rotary experience was when I was in high school. My boss at the time was serving as the President of the local Rotary Club and thus I participated in several fundraising and service project efforts. What can I say, the Rotarian spirit is infectious and stuck with me. After graduating with my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, I felt compelled to join the local club, Playa Venice Sunrise. I am sure glad I did. Whether its the hugs after giving Christmas gifts to a family in need, experiencing the talents of young local high school students, or seeing the smiles on the faces of students who we give scholarships to, Rotary is a fountain of rewarding experiences helping others.
What does your perfect weekend look like?
A long hike. Reading the Bible or another book. Taking an online class. Cooking and baking. Eating.
