Holiday Adopt-A-Family

During each holiday season, Playa Venice Sunrise Rotarians adopt 6 needy families to bring holiday cheer and celebration to their homes. The Rotarians personally interact with the families which makes it very special! Personal needs and wish lists are provided by the families and the Rotarians set out to hopefully change the lives of some of these families. Over $40,000 of Foundation funds have been dedicated to this very popular program over the years.

Pancake Breakfast

Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary Club raises funds for the Los Angeles Fire Department Stations 5 in Westchester and 63 in Venice through two separate annual Pancake Breakfast events held at each respective station. The breakfasts are large community events where neighbors and friends are invited to the station for pancakes and fellowship. Tours of the station are provided, demonstration displays by the firefighters and lots of activities for the kids including clown, balloon animals, face painting, bouncy house and games.

Midnight Mission

Several times throughout each year, Playa Venice Sunrise Rotarians visit the Midnight Mission in Skid Row to donate their time and feed the homeless. The club is committed to lending a hand to the Los Angeles homeless epidemic. In addition to serving and feeding the homeless, the club donates much needed everyday supplies such as water, toiletries, clothing and yes, forks for the Mission as there are never enough. Dessert treat donations have become a favorite of the members as the Mission relys solely on food donations and it was noticed that there are never any desserts.
