Greetings
Rotarians & Friends!
Last week, we had our
Fun and Fabulous Fellowshipmeeting
where we celebrated our February Birthdays! Thank you to Club Service Director Becky for stepping in as Birthday Fairy, and to Foundation President Gail for providing the delicious cake!
FUN, FUN, FUN!
We announced our Rotarian of the Month, Jason Wong!
We heard a mini craft-talk from a
member of our board...
and completed the assembly of our gifts for our Firefighters, police officers, healthcare workers and first responders as part of Protectors Appreciation Week!
______
PVSR SALUTING OUR PROTECTORS!
We are always proud to support our protectors and served them lunch at both the Sheriff’s Station in Marina Del Rey
and the Los Angeles County Fire Station Station 110 in Marina del Rey on Thursday.
Thank you to all who have
volunteered to help!
_______________
PLAYA VENICE SUNRISE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY
There is always so much to be grateful for and there is always so many ways in which we can lend a hand to someone in need. I am proud of our Club and the many ways in which we support our community.
Through our fundraising, we are able to support our schools, help teachers with needed classroom supplies, help a student with college expenses, mentor our youth, support our protectors, and so much more.
Through Rotary, we have the ability to reach beyond what an individual or small group can accomplish by partnering with other clubs
to make a larger impact.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the Playa Venice Sunrise, Santa Monica, Westwood Village and Wilshire Rotary clubs as well as our Rotary District, we were able to, through 3 distribution days at the Barker Hanger, distribute 150 sifters and 300 PPE kits. Additional kits are available through the American Legion in Pacific Palisades.
Here is a picture of a dear friend who lost her home in the Eaton Fire.
Searching through the ashes is a monumentous undertaking and our safer sifting project not only ensures that residents are trained in the proper use of the equipment but have the PPE and other gear necessary to sift more safely. Thank you to all who volunteered, donated and supported this incredibly meaningful project.

ROTARY INTERNATIONAL
PRESIDENT-ELECT 2025-2026
VISITS CANTALINI'S
One of the Keynote speakers at this year’s “PETS” – President Elect Training Seminar, was the Rotary International President Elect, Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo, who was hosted by our District Leaders
for a special dinner at
Cantalini’s Salerno Beach Restaurant.
I appreciated the opportunity to meet this very dynamic and inspiring gentleman and we look forward to his year, which starts in July.
Here is a group shot of the President Elects at this years PETS
including our Club’s President Elect,
Martha Jeffers, who reports having had a wonderful weekend and found RIPE Mario to be a very passionate speaker. The theme he chose for 2025-2026, is “UNITE FOR GOOD”.
