the list is quite long!
June is full of special observances starting with the National Cancer Survivors Day
which is the first Sunday of June;
it lands on June 1st for 2025.
I feel blessed to be a breast cancer survivor and I send my love to all those who join me in this exceptional group!
Also celebrated on 🫒 June 1st is National Olive Day🫒 I am confident that I have contributed much to the olive industry over the years!!
🧀 June 4th is National Cheese Day🧀 well, let's just say I LOVE my cheese…especially what my grandmother lovingly referred to as “stinky cheese” (Grated Pecorino Romano).
🪖June 6th commemorates D-Day 🪖
the 1944 invasion of Normandy, France, which marked the beginning of the Allied liberation of western Europe from Nazi control during WWII.
🌹June 12th is Red Rose Day🌹
That sounds like a delightful day!
🇺🇸 June 14th is Flag Day🇺🇸 This day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States in 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
🍔🧢 🚴🏽♂️ 🏀Father’s Day ⚾️ 🍔 🍺🏎️ is Celebrated on the third Sunday in June; this year it falls on June 15th.
Juneteenth is a National holiday celebrated on June 19th to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US.
June 19th is also National Martini Day – just sayin'! 🍸
😎 🌞The Summer Solstice or first day of Summer, is June 20th🌞⛱️😎
As you can see, June is known for many observances including 🐶National Pet Week from June 1-7!😻 Any excuse to post a picture of the Babies (Giorgi and Gigi)!! 🥰
June is also the last month
of the Rotary Year!
We have been so busy and have done so much magnificent work in our communities…and we are not finished yet!
This week will be my lastFUN AND FABULOUS FELLOWSHIPmeeting.
We will celebrate our May birthdays, Announce the May Rotarian of the Month
and meet a board member with
a Mini-Craft Talk from
Past President and long time
Foundation Board Member,
Kathrine Russell!
Next Tuesday
will be our Thank You Dinner for both the outgoing and incoming Boards at Cantalini’s Salerno Beach Restaurant.
Next Wednesday
we will hear a craft Talk from incoming
Co-President Martha and a special presentation by incoming Co-President Gwen.
The Following week will be the President’s Awardmeeting
where we will have a chance to acknowledge our members for outstanding service.
Then on June 27th
we will close the month with our Demotion-Installation-20th Anniversary celebration at the Marina Del Rey Hotel!!
