We are winding down our year –
only two more Club meetings
before we come together to celebrate!
My understanding is that the invitations to the Demotion Party have gone out…
and as per tradition, Brady and I
have not seen them. I do love the mystery, and I especially love that I get to take a break and relax this year.
Brady and I want to thank all those
working to make this milestone
evening a great success,
especially our event chairs, Past President Hilton and Co-President Elect Gwen.
We will be taking our new club photo
that evening and do hope
most of our members can make it!

LAST WEEK'S
!! MYSTERY BOX WINNER !!
Our Mystery Box Auction, hosted by Foundation President Gail, has been
a tremendous success! This week’s big winner was Martha Jeffers who won a wine and cheese board extravaganza! Thank you so much
for your generous bid!!
_______________
Our raffle pot has gotten quite large
so to try and stay within our
Demotion Party Tradition of having
the final draw happen on the night of our Celebration, we will have one last
chance to win at the club on Wednesday
and if no one wins, we will bring the cards down to 12 and see who the lucky
winner will be on June 27th!
You cannot win if you do not play –
Good luck to all!

PLAYA VENICE ROTARIANS
ON LOCATION! TEAMWORK DOES
MAKES THE DREAM WORK!
(That's Our Nora in Yellow! Way to Go Nora!)
The Playa Venice Rotary Club and District 5280 continue to work with Vision To Learn. Most recently, we brought Free Eye Exams and Free Glasses to the Elementary
schools in Blythe, California.
There are no Optometrist offices in Blythe and the closest services for the children of Blythe is over a 2 hour drive each way, in Indio! Simply stated, the kids are not getting the basic tools they need
to succeed in school and in life.
The RAP Foundation of the Coachella Valley provided $100,000 of the $125,000 budget to bring the services to where the kids are - at their schools. The rest of the funds came from Rotary District 5280, Rotary District 5330, and a private funder. Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Blythe joined PVSR Rotarian Nora MacLellan to screen the nearly 1,800 students
over three days.
The Blythe Rotarians acted as runners for the VTL Mobile clinic staff when they were on site and over 500 students were provided free eye exams and over 400 received FREE prescription eye glasses.
Next year - on to the Middle and
High School Students.
If a child can't see, how can they learn!
