April arrives centered around renewal, service,
health, and environmental awareness. Days
such as Earth Day, Passover, Easter, National
Volunteer Month, National Pet Day, World Health
Day, Stress Awareness Month, and Arbor Day
remind us that this month brings fresh energy,
new possibility, and a renewed appreciation for
both our planet and our shared humanity. As
the world begins to bloom, we’re reminded
that renewal is happening within us, too.
This season invites us to step forward with
hope, aliveness, and a renewed sense of
purpose. Let’s grow—let’s glow! 🌱✨

Craft Talk Spotlight: A Life
of Heart, Humor & Horizons
From the time she was a young girl, Racquel’s
dreams always circled back to one thing—being
a mother. Today, she’s the proud mom of three
incredible humans, a role that clearly sits at the
center of her story.
Her passion for travel began early, sparked by a
life-changing high school experience when her cheerleading squad competed in Japan. That
moment opened her eyes to the beauty of
different cultures—a curiosity that continues
to guide her adventures today, often shared
with her daughter and sons.
Family runs deep in Racquel’s life. With five
generations woven into her story, she shared
the profound meaning of having her grandmother
still with her, even as she carries the memory of
her parents. The bonds between her grandparents
and her children are especially close—something
she treasures deeply. One touching example: her son’s decision to donate his hair to a cancer
organization, a reflection of the compassion
she’s clearly passed on.
And then… there’s her flair. Costumes, fun,
and a joyful spirit are all part of who she is—
bringing lightness and laughter wherever
she goes.
A natural jokester, Racquelwrapped up her talk
with an April Fools joke, leaving the whole
room filled with hysterical laughter — and a
deeper appreciation of the vibrant person
that she is!

Golf Tournament Sponsor ⛳️
We are excited to have presented Courtney
with a check for $2,000 as proud sponsors
of Visitation’s Annual Golf Tournament.
Over the years, Visitation Church has been
an incredible partner to our club, generously
providing the use of their auditorium for several
of our major events, as well as their conference
room each month for our Board meetings.
Their ongoing support has allowed us to reduce
event expenses, helping redirect those savings
toward funding our service projects, scholarships,
and community initiatives.
We are truly grateful for this meaningful
partnership and are honored to support
Visitation in return.

The Gift That Lives On ❤️🩹
Organ Donation is one of District Governor
Alex's most heartfelt initiatives, inspired by
his mother’s generous act as a donor. It’s a
powerful reminder that one decision can
change everything.
Through donation, we offer life, health, and
hope—impacting multiple lives in a deeply
human way.
Signing up is simple through Donate Life
America, or even when renewing your
driver’s license. It takes just a moment,
but the impact lasts a lifetime.
Something to think about… and maybe
something to say “yes” to.

Welcoming Rotaract at Otis
The launch of a Rotaract Club at Otis College
of Art and Design is the result of a meaningful
partnership between Westchester Rotary Club
and Playa Venice Sunrise. Together, we’ve
brought to life an opportunity where creativity
and service come together through the next
generation of leaders.
In the spirit of connection and support, we invite
all members to attend the welcome mixer—an
opportunity to meet these inspiring students and
celebrate this exciting beginning. Dr. JoAnn Staten, Assistant Chair, is especially eager to see a strong
showing as we celebrate the rebirth of the
Rotaract Club at Otis.
Please join us in welcoming and congratulating
the Impactful Artistry Rotaract Club at Otis!
There are moments when service becomes
visible—and this is one of them. The 2026 Peace
Walk invites Rotarians across our District to come
together in a simple yet powerful way: walking side
by side in support of peace in our communities
and in our world.
We encourage each of you to join—and to bring
your family, friends, and those whose lives are
touched by service. We’ll gather at Magic Johnson
Park for a public walk that reflects the heart of
Rotary, followed by time for fellowship, connection,
and a little fun together.
This year’s beneficiary, Mama Hill’s Help, is doing
powerful work supporting at-risk youth in South
Los Angeles. Mama Hill will join us, and donations
will be collected in support of her mission.
Let’s show up, walk together, and be a visible
expression of the peace we work to build
every day.
