At last week’s meeting, the tech team (thank you Carla and Rob!!) pivoted instantly to welcome guest speaker Casey Yeazel via Zoom. That wasn’t the original plan -- due to Casey’s educational responsibilities, he had to abandon his plan (which would have included a massive backup on the 405) and join us from an office.
We got to hear what President Casey has planned for Playa del Rey’s St. Bernard High School in the coming years, and we were able to see his power point that included “inside out” renovation plans,
the new school crest, and the long-term plan to work with Lulu’s place
-- the incredible new sports complex that will be built adjacent
to the school over the next few years.
Thank you, Casey! We are here to support you and your team as you bring St. Bernard to the top of the list of westside high schools.

Great start to our new Rotary year by Team Playa Venice Sunrise!
Kudos for your Inspiration, Participation and Fellowship!
See you Wednesday!

Our First Board Meeting!
We had our first board meeting of the new year and we couldn’t be more inspired by the positive energy and wisdom already coming forward by this dynamic team! We look forward to crafting our collective vision as we review and confirm our annual budgets, programs and proposed fundraisers. Thank you all who are stepping up to help secure the road forward.

COMING UP NEXT...
*** THIS WEDNESDAY ~ GUEST SPEAKER

Kenneth Jones, Director of Development and
Community Impact from S.P.Y. ~ "SAFE PLACE FOR YOUTH"
PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO BE THERE
TO WELCOME KENNETH ***
Come hear the latest from one of our favorite local organizations... S.P.Y. Safe Place for Youth, dedicated to ending youth homelessness. There are over 4,000 un-housed youth on the street on any given night in Los Angeles, mostly as a result of family-based instability and/or violence. Each week we pass around a jar
(in honor of past president and artist Tony Ciancimino), to donate our spare change and dollars to the Healing Arts Program at S.P.Y.,
which is located right on Lincoln Blvd. in Venice.
We will present a check to S.P.Y., as well as make a donation of toiletries, thanks to the dedication of Gail Goldstein. We are proud to support our local organization that helps u-housed youth learn to care for themselves, and to successfully transition into adulthood. To learn more about Safe Place for Youth,
