Has earned 2 prestigious Awards
at the Rotary District Conference!
We had an AMAZING weekend attending
the Annual District Conference, held at the beautiful South Coast Winery in Temecula. 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷
District Governor Albert had a theme for every day starting with a Dodger's theme
on Thursday, moving to a Latin theme for Friday and then for Saturday’s Governor’s Ball, a Kentucky Derby Theme… 🐎 👒 🐎 👒 🐎 👒 So we broke out the big hats and attended a beautiful evening under the stars.
The celebration included a big brass band, and the menu was Surf and Turf –
how appropriate!
After dinner, the winners of the Club of Impact Awards were announced and… Drum roll please…
We are absolutely beaming with pride to announce that our Club received the 2024-2025 Club of Impact Award
for “medium clubs.”
(Formerly known as "Club of Excellance" award.)
🎉 🎉 🎉 🎉 🎉 🎉
The other two winners were Thai Town for “Small Clubs” and
Woodland Hills for “Large Clubs.” Congratulations to ALL!
Our Club has had an extraordinary year,
and it is such an honor to be
recognized for our hard work. Our Club also won 1st place for the Project of the Year Award,
recognizing us for our Safer Sifting Project!

* LAST WEEK'S MEETING *
We welcomed several guests including Antionette Stuckey from Cedars Sinai
Marina Del Rey Hospital who brought
us some really fun swag!
We loved new member Dave Johnston's
re-enactment of his Baby picture.
The reveal was hilarious!
Last week, Co-President Elect,
Gwen Vuchsas, shared a 10-year-old
clip from an interview with
“Born to Talk” host Marsha Wietecha.
It was so wonderful to hear about the many projects Rotary was involved in and amazingly, they are all still running today!
We also heard a Craft Talk from
Co-President Elect, Martha Jeffers,
and it was impossible not to be
amazed at her adventurous spirit.
It was wonderful to hear more about her life’s journey which from all accounts,
is still evolving. She has mastered some amazing physical challenges including climbing a 1312 ft mountain above the Sacred Valley in Peru and hiking the
Camino de Santiago in Spain!
And she confidently reports
that she is not done yet!
We look forward to a new year under their capable leadership
beginning July 1.
