It was full house at Whiskey Reds last Wednesday with about 90 persons in attendance: Members, guests, scholarship recipients and their families!
All Rotarians were excellent hosts and positive vibes were reverberating across the room. That hour was a culmination of the efforts of many, including: The leadership and passion of Gail Goldstein, sponsors, readers and all of us who worked hard to fundraise the $23,000 awarded at that event. Truly, it took a village!
PANCAKE BREAKFAST

This was a huge community event with about 1200+ community residents in attendance according to Venice Paparazzi. About half of Playa Venice Rotarians took turns to prepare and serve food as well as help at different booths. Many sponsors joined hands to cover expenses. It’s worth mentioning Whiskey Reds management who contacted Tracey a few weeks ago and asked for her guidance on how to join hands with us to serve the community. They had Cisco donate the eggs and their chef, Joe and cook Doug, came at 6am to cook.
A special Thank you also to the team that worked the day before, to shop, transport etc: Jason, Gwen, Jerry, Kurtis, Hilton and Matthew!
The firemen were upbeat, happy and grateful for our initiative.
Here too, “it took a Village” to make it happen. Thank you Hilton and Tracey for your leadership and tireless work for weeks before the event!

Hike starts at 8 am as usual. Picnic would start around 10-11 am. by the tables.
We will be celebrating Hilton's Birthday as well with a cake.
Kenneth Hahn Recreation Area is a 2.6 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Culver City, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
It's a perfect day for everyone. Bring your kids and your furry babies.
Last but not least
Our Club sponsored a Charity Golf Tournament for Visitation Parish & School. Visitation is a great partner to our club: Among others, they offer, at no charge, the meeting room for our monthly Board meetings and their hall for our BingoFest. Our own Joerg Rose, a Visitation parent, is pictured here golfing!
