While our meeting attendance is a little light
right now with many of you on vacation with
family, cruising Europe, soaking up the sun, or
enjoying a little downtime, the spirit of our club continues to shine. Last week’s meeting brought
a smaller circle—but still big on connection,
updates, and a few laughs. Here’s a quick bite
of what you missed, with a full serving of appreciation for all that you do, near or far.
We can’t wait to hear your summer stories
when you return!☀️ 🏝️

Rotarian of the Month
And if you are in town, we look forward to having
you join us this Wednesday for some fun and
reveal of our July “Rotarian of the Month.” 🎉
🌟 Spotlight on Our Speaker:
A Journey of Purpose & Possibility
From Oklahoma roots to California sunshine, Susan Reutershared a heartfelt journey marked
by opportunity, love, and service. Her move west
not only brought new beginnings but also led her
to meeting her husband, Dean, and building a
blended family that now includes the joys
of grandparenting.
Susan’s career path mirrored this spirit of
growth—retiring after a fulfilling chapter
supporting her architect husband in space
planning and office design, with a specialty
in furniture selection and decor.
With Rotary woven into her family’s legacy,
Susan brings enthusiasm and commitment to
our club. We’re thrilled to have her stepping
into the role of Foundation Treasurer, where
her talents will undoubtedly shine. Guided by
the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self,” she
continues to lead with heart and purpose.
🌍 Uganda Global Grant
Moves Forward
An enthusiastic update from Rich Shelton and
Brady Connell regarding the Uganda Global
Grant - we are officially moving forward,
thanks to the support and cooperation of
several other clubs!
We have reached the $30,000 mark to
proceed with this project. Even better—we
anticipate several more Uganda Rotary
clubs joining in, which will likely bring the
total to $35,000–$40,000 once all
commitments are in.
Our club’s generous contribution of $9,000 demonstrates a deep commitment to the
project and will no doubt inspire additional
support from clubs throughout Uganda.
Well done, team!
🍀 Lucky, Laughter, and
a Birthday Bonus!
We had a fantastic visitor join us this week, Arlen Cullors, who got the full Rotary experience: warm fellowship, great conversation—and
beginner’s luck, snagging one of our
raffle prizes!
And, the real jackpot moment? Our very own Rotarian of the Year, Stephanie Rondeau,
hit it big by winning the 50/50 weekly raffle
taking home $265—on her birthday, no less!
Clearly, the stars (and the raffle tickets)
were aligned. 🎟️✨

🥇 Westchester Team Challenge: Hot Potato Hustlers Bring the Heat!
At 8AM sharp on Saturday, the Hot Potato
Hustlers showed up fired up and ready to
hustle! Facing off against nine other teams,
our crew brought determination and plenty of
laughs as we competed in five high-stakes
events: Corn Hole, Bocce Ball, Softball/Frisbee
Toss, Balance Relay, and Dress Relay.
What’s a Balance Relay? Imagine walking with
a book on your head, twirling a baton, and
balancing a golf ball on a spoon—all without
dropping a thing. In the Dress Relay, teammates threw on a hula skirt, lei, hat, beads, and shirt,
then dashed down the course. Fastest time wins
—and yes, three of our teammates ran twice!
Huge shoutout to the fearless Hot Potato
Hustlers: Bobbie, Marsha, Ramona, Evan, Dave,
Martha, and Maria Vega, Martha’s daughter.
The photos say it all: We may not have taken
the trophy, but we crushed it in fun, energy,
and team spirit!
