Induction: Linda Soto
We are delighted to induct Linda Soto into
Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary this Wednesday.
A lifelong Westsider, Linda is celebrating 26 years
as owner of Design Street Studios, a balloon
décor business. A creative entrepreneur at heart,
she has also run a gift basket company and
actively volunteers with Project Angel Food, supporting those facing critical illness.
Linda first connected with our Club at the
Oktoberfest Cultural Dinner and Scholarship
Gala, later volunteering at the Westchester
Triangle Stroll. Inspired by our service and
fellowship, she is excited to join PVSR.

Scott Culbertson - Exec. Director Friends of Ballona Wetlands
We were delighted to hear from fellow
Rotarian, Scott, who shared both an update
on the wetlands and the financial background
that first led him to join Friends of Ballona
Wetlands. Blending his fiscal expertise with a
deep passion for the environment, Scott
shared how he’s dedicated over 20 years to
help preserve and restore this vital habitat.
His involvement in not only protecting the
birds and plants that call the wetlands home
but also ensures that people can continue to
enjoy and experience their beauty for
generations to come.
We were proud to be a sponsor of this year’s
October 11th Moonlight on the Marshto help
raise critical funds for restoration and
education programs to protect this vital
coastline ecosystem. A check for $2,000
was presented to Scott on behalf
of PVS Rotary.

Honor Flight - Honoring Our Veterans
Honor Flight is a nonprofit program that
transports U.S. military veterans to
Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials
honoring their service—at no cost to them.
Originally focused on World War II veterans
and those with terminal illness, the program
has expanded to include veterans of the
Korean War, Vietnam War, and beyond.
This past weekend, PVSR was once again proud
to be part of this special experience. From providing wheelchairs for their Honor Flight
journey to cheering their return at LAX. Adding
to the spirit of fellowship, Gail and Rob
gathered our Rotarians for a hosted meal
before greeting the returning heroes—a
beautiful reminder of service,
camaraderie, and gratitude.

City of Angels Award Gala
The City of Angels gala was a dinner event
honoring individuals and businesses that have
made a significant contribution to the City of
Los Angeles. Our very own PVSR was honored
receiving a beautiful certificate in recognition
of 20 years of service. Thank you to Mary
Catherine and Gwen who attended the Gala
and received the certificate on behalf
of the club.

WAM - Westchester Arts
& Music Festival
The annual neighborhood block party -
presented by fellow Rotarians, Stephanie
Younger Group, and spearheaded by Courtney O’Donoghue - proved to be
the event to attend this past Saturday.
Congratulations, Stephanie and Courtney,
for such an outstanding block party!
Featuring live music and dance, art, vendors,
food trucks, and community booths - there
were activities for children and adults alike.
A big thank you to all PVS Rotarians who
showed up to support our PVSR booth and

collecting diapers for those families in need
