Kelly Younger - Professor at LMU

We are pleased to welcome Kelly Younger to
our Wednesday meeting, where we will hear from
the Emmy-nominated screenwriter and producer

Amazon’s hit Candy Cane Lane. Kelly has also
contributed to award-winning Muppets productions and major Disney and Pixar films, including

Teacher Mini Grant Event

An impressive 127 Teacher Mini Grant
applications
were received and thoughtfully
reviewed by a panel of six PVSR members -
Jim, Martha, Susan, Natalie, Debbie, and Lisa.
From these submissions, 80 teachers were
awarded grants ranging from $100 to $400,
bringing much-needed resources directly into
their classrooms. The awards were met with
great enthusiasm by the principals of
the recipient schools.

In total, PVSR proudly gave out $19,573
to local schools
. These funds were raised
through a combination of fundraisers—and
yes, even a bake sale!

A special note of gratitude goes to Gail, whose
homemade cookies and banana and zucchini
breads
were a huge hit. Every dollar raised from
her delicious baked goods was fully earmarked
for this year’s Teacher Mini Grants.

Congratulations to PVSR for its continued
commitment to education
, and heartfelt
appreciation to all the teachers who took the
time to apply. Your dedication inspires us all.

Rotarians Around Town

Always looking for a way to give back, Gail
Goldstein
celebrated her birthday at Build-A-Bear
Culver City. Twenty-seven PVSR members and
family came together to build 31 bears, all
destined for donation to the Los Angeles County
Children's Hospital program CARES
. The joy
of giving continuous on!

Following the festivities, all were invited to join
Gail for a special birthday dinner at Cantalini’s,
where fellowship and celebration continued into
the evening.
