A Very Happy Hour
More than 30 Rotarians and their families attended the Happy Hour last week at Hacienda Playa! The food, drinks and company were great! Thanks Maria!

Rise Against Hunger
Bonnie Cullinan, our International Director, led a group of our club and joined hands with other Rotarians in our district to assemble food to send to countries that need them! We presented the organizers from the Redondo Beach Rotary Club with a check to support the program

Rob Decou Ted Talk
Last weekend, Rob Decou, a former Rotarian of our club who lives now in Washington State, did a Ted Talk at Tedx Manhattan Beach. He recounted his Ultra Endurance life adventure from the point of view of “Service above Self.”
On a side note, our own Bobbie Casalino-Lewis, was for the second year, the stylist of all Ted speakers at that event! Way to go Bobbie!

Adopt-A-Family Kick-Off Meeting
Don’t miss next Wednesday’s meeting! We will kick-off the holiday season and launch our signature Adopt-A-Family program. We will be assigned a team and will decorate a basket to be delivered to each family!

A store manager overheard a clerk saying to a customer, "No, ma'am, we haven't had any for some weeks now, and it doesn't look as if we'll be getting any soon."
Alarmed by what was being said, the manager rushed over to the customer who was walking out the door and said, "That isn't true, ma'am. Of course, we'll have some soon. In fact, we placed an order for it a couple of weeks ago."
Then the manager drew the clerk aside and growled, "Never, never, never, never say we don't have something. If we don't have it, say we ordered it and it's on its way. Now, what was it she wanted?"
The clerk smiled and said ..."Rain."
