Greetings
Rotarians & Friends!
I do hope everyone is adjusting to having “sprung forward” this past week…there is so much going on, all at once! It is great to be a Playa Venice Rotarian!!
Last week, we heard from Kirstin Aceves,
the Director of the Westchester Senior Center, who shared with us the incredible programs and services available to
our Local Seniors.
We look forward to being more involved and appreciate how much Kirstin has done to raise membership and improve the programs.
Great events and offerings for
SENIORS and PEOPLE OF ALL AGES
we may know!
Please check them out and spread the word!

** HAPPY HOUR KALAVERAS **
We gathered for a “spicy” Happy Hour at Kalaveras in Marina Del Rey!
Thank you Becky Reilly for setting this up. It’s always wonderful to spend time in fellowship and the margaritas
are a bonus for sure!
We were so excited to find that we had an opportunity to celebrate Gail’s “Good News” from her five-year Cancer Screening earlier in the day - she is very proud to be able
to call herself a SURVIVOR!!
This is such wonderful news and we are so grateful and happy for her! We were also pleasantly surprised to run into Eden and Bill from AMCS who were there following
another local event.

PAGEANT OFTHE ARTS
This past week, we sponsored two students from Wish Academy
High School in Westchester at the District Pageant of the Arts contest; both students competed in the music category - Lailah in song and Ezra performed on Guitar. They both did a fantastic job and will visit the Club soon to share their talents with us and receive their scholarship checks. Thank you to Dean and Susan Reuter for representing our Club at the event.

** ROCK ROLL AND RUN **
We also participated at the Rock, Roll and Run event at LMU and it was was a great success with over 1000 in attendance. Our booth was VERY busy serving pancakes and sausage, coffee, juice and beautiful fresh oranges from the local Farmer's Market to the runners and families who attended. Thank you to all the Rotarians who volunteered, especially Gwen, Lucy, Martha, Debbie, Marcia, John,
Bobbie and Hilton!
What a fantastic event this is!
