Each week President Gail will whisper in Tony Ciancimino's ear how the Club is "Sharing Smiles" and living Service Above Self. Tony will then share it with the Club.

Dear fellow Rotarians and friends,

International exchange student from Germany, Insa Janssen, joined us this week to tell us about her homeland and U.S. experiences. she is a delightful lady and a lawyer to boot. Since she live locally we hope that that she'll be a frequent guest! She graciously exchanged banners with President Gail.

Sally advised the membership that the 6/23 rummage sale names has been upgraded to Vintage Sale, they don't have rummage ii Playa del Rey. We need a large supply of plastic bags like you get at Ralph's for our customers, also tables. Gail is storing donations in her garage, give her a call if you want to bring something over.

Katie reminded the Club that we have been invited to a year end lunch by our Animo Venice High School Interacters. It will take place during their lunch break on 5/29 from 11:20 to 11:55 AM. We'll have some surprises for them!

While she had the floor Katie gave a report on MarinaFest. This was the first event where we showcased all of our new Imagedisplay items. We bought a new pop up canopy and had out our new club information pop ups. Coupled with Carol's Grills and our popcorn machine we carved quite a presence. The Interacters manned the popcorn machine and earned for their Club. The guysImage took the Saturday shifts and the gals Sunday. They made $50 on Sat. and $100 on Sun., draw your own conclusions! Katie thanked the Club for the membership's great participation. We netted $1300 for the two day event and had a lot of fun!

                                                     Brags & Fines

  • Don reported on his trip to the International Convention and was fined $20 because he couldn't find Howard among the 30,000 people present.
  • Howard advised that Bangkok had the best looking men, women and ladyboys, he wasn't fined because no one wanted to ask him how he gathered this information. Also because he brought several boxes of book from one of his vendors. This will greatly help our book donations in the name of weekly speakers and it will be of great assistance with the budget. Thanks Mr. Generosity!

We were informed that good friend Lauren Palermo has heart surgery upcoming. Everyone will keep she and Tony in our hearts and prayers!

Howard and Alex will head the 4th of July Parade Float efforts. They already have some great ideas.

Lucy will be selling tickets again next we for her groups upcoming June 23rd and 24th concert. Remember she has graciously said she match 50% of the income and Gail and Rob have invited Sunday attendees to be their guest at dinner at Chin Chins. Concert details follow this Bulletin.

Thanks to Alex Rosales for this week's pictures!
