Results of packing "For the Troops."

Thanks to our host, Howard Pollack, we were able to gather on Sat. November 15th to assemble "care packages" for our troops serving overseas. Founders of "For the Troops" Janie Josephson and Paula Cornell worked with Howard to set up an assembly line to pack boxes for shipment to our service men and women. Through the efforts of Judy Delavigne, Loyola Marymount's students and staff collected a large number of donations that grew the total significantly. Assembly took place at a breakneck pace and  we put together over 220 packages! No one has seen Sybil Buchanan since we started so she may be in a box headed to Afghanistan. Gwen Vuchsas put it best when she said, "This puts a face on what we are doing. I am picturing a young person serving our country as they open these boxes. It's truly heart warming." Thanks again to the members and volunteers who gave of their time and those who made donations to send a personal "Thank You" to our troops. If you wish to visit the website of "For the Troops" a link has been placed on our homepage.
