Greetings all,

Week one at our new home in the Marina City Club was off to a good start. Below is a review of this week's meeting and upcoming Playa Venice events. Remember to read all the way through for this week’s Note from the Universe.

I saw a lot of pictures being taken by people. Please forward them to me.

The revised newsletter has been delayed a week or so due to operator error. Yes, that is me but in my defense I was drinking.  :)

Dear fellow Rotarians and friends,

Highlights from this week:

As mentioned, this was our first meeting in new home - Marina City Club. They did a nice job. Bacon was crispy, sausage was tasty and the eggs were real.

We had a great turnout for the first meeting and Katie did an amazing job filling in for Tom who was somewhere on the beach in Mexico with shots of tequila. Tom, we better see some good Happy Bucks upon your return.

The Marina City Club was very welcoming to us. We still need to do some work on the room flow/set-up but it was a positive first meeting. Even though only a few people wanted the free champagne to celebrate.

Also, Welcome back to Tore from his travels. Back to being Youth Services Director.

This Weeks Speaker:

Dr. John M. Kennedy.

Great work on stress and cardiac issues. Huge increase on Christmas and New Year's Day. Road rage stress is even an issue.

Simple rules to not have heart disease/help prevent heart disease:

  • Eat right, exercise regularly and chill out/relax/de-stress.
  • More powerful then meds and invasive surgery

HEART:

  • Heal your blood pressure
  • Energize and Exercise your Heart
  • Act on Fat
  • Reduce Blood Sugar

Pet owners have lower blood pressure and lower cadio risk. Interesting data.

And now, a Note from the Universe:

“You've done better than you know. You've helped more than you realize. And you're closer than you think.

Because even then things will still get better, and better, forever more.

Not to even mention how good you still look in blue jeans”
