The Animo Venice Charter HS Interact Club is sponsoring the milk served each Friday at the Tepehua Community Center in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico.  President Gail has kindly matched the club's gift the last two times.  Christian, who has been president of the Animo Club this past semester, was with Don Culton, his dad and his mother at their Christmas celebration and lunch, December 23.  Over 200 kids and their mothers were served a nice meal, given a bag of goodies by Santa, entertained with a puppet show.  The center provides various services, including cancer screening for women, donated clothes, counseling for battered women, classes for English, sewing and other subjects. They also provide baths since many local homes lack running water. Women from the community are being trained to run the facility and will be taking over completely from the ex-pats, mostly retired Canadians and Americans, who have been running things.  The center has the support of several Rotary clubs in the US and Canada, much refurbishing has been done to the former orphanage that sits in the middle of a lower class section of the municipality of Chapala.
