 Rotarians & Friends
As we continue to face the unbelievable devastation of the wildfires, we are doing our best to mobilize efforts to help those
most affected as well as support our brave
firefighters and first responders.
I am so enormously proud of the
efforts of our Club as well as many
Rotary Clubs in our District.

I am also so moved by incredible
contributions of those in our community.
We pray for all those who are suffering
and hope we can get these fires fully contained.

Our Playa Venice Sunrise Rotarians have been in action working together with various organizations, including meeting an immediate need to provide blankets for dialysis patients who have been evacuated.

Within 48 hours our club
was able to donate more than
200 blankets.
Pictured below is Carolyn Urquidez,
Executive Director,
of the Kidney Foundation
picking up the blankets from Past President Gwen Vuchsas.
Thank you to all for your generous donations!

"SAFE SIFTING BUNDLE"
PROJECT

As we continue to respond to the many direct requests from our community leaders, PVSR is spear-heading the collection of necessary equipment for those who have lost their homes to safely sift through the ashes in the hope of recovering personal items.

Thanks to the generous donation
of sifters by our local Home Depot, we are creating a 'Safe Sifting Bundle" of education,  tools and PPE for victims to use when it's safe to return to the devastated areas and search through the rubble.

We are thrilled to have been approved for an emergency grant from District 5280's Wildfire Disaster Relief fund.

Thank you District Governor Albert for your assistance in getting these much needed funds.

If you have items to donate for the
"SAFE SIFTING BUNDLE"
like Goggles & Heavy duty Gloves, etc.
Please Contact Co-President
Brady Connell for more details.

EXCHANGE STUDENT HOSTING OPPORTUNITY

We welcomed Warren Bobrow from the Westchester Rotary Club who shared
with us the opportunity to host exchange
students visiting from other countries.
This is one of the oldest running programs in Rotary. Many students and host families have reported that the memories made during these visits are priceless.
