Rotarians & Friends
We hope you and your loved ones are safe.
Thank you to all who have been coming out to support those who have been impacted
by the horrific wildfires ravaging our communities.

We are Stronger together and this is evident by the heart-filled efforts of our Rotarian family and Angelinos across our great city.
Our hearts are filled with love, compassion and service in action as we navigate these unimaginable events in our city's history.  Who would have thought this is how 2025 would begin.

As for PVSR, we started the New Year with a Happy Hour at Cantalini’s Salerno Beach Restaurant where we helped celebrate the restaurant’s 25th Anniversary!
It was a wonderful evening filled with so many Rotarians, customers, family and friends! Thank you so much for all the well wishes and support!!

Who could have guessed that a mere 5 days later, we would face such destruction and devastation of so many beautiful communities. We came together last Wednesday amid the most horrifically tragic circumstances. There was no way to comprehend the scenes unfolding before us and the terrifying speed of the multiple fires raging all around us.

For those of us who gathered, it was nice to be together. We made the decision to postpone our White Elephant Gift Exchange to this week. We also chose not to have our regular raffle as it did not feel fair to exclude those who were unable to attend.

PVSR IN ACTION
Responding to the incredible needs of the multitude of evacuees, our Club took immediate action buying backpacks, towels, blankets, and washcloths to donate as part of the massive, coordinated efforts of the Stephanie Younger Group’s Donation Drop-Off Center and the Westchester Y’s Distribution Center.

We are so grateful for the outpouring of support within our Rotary District and local community.
District Governor Albert has created a Wildfire Disaster Relief Fund –
Please see link below to make donations.

We have been in communication with our local Fire Stations and there are several Club members working on direct support of our First Responders and Firefighters including a large donation
of Power Bars and Gatorade.
Our gratitude also goes out to Club Service Director, Becky Reilly, who is arranging a Donation of Red Bull for our local Fire Station.
Senior Assistant Governor, Thuy Trifunovic, is requesting new/used blankets for
evacuated dialysis patients –
If you can contribute, please bring blankets to our Club Meeting this Wednesday.

Thank you to all who have been offering help – service is the core of what it means to be a Rotarian, and volunteers are desperately needed especially to help sort donated clothing at the various local Donation Centers. Please reach out for more information – the two main locations are Traci Park’s Field office and the Westchester YMCA.
