Dear Rotarians,

 

 

 

Our regular meeting room at Whiskey Red's is not available to us for tomorrow morning's meeting.  They have sold out the entire restaurant for a 3-day film shoot. Thank you to Jeff Kim for arranging for a substitute meeting location.  We will be meeting at The Proud Bird Restaurant in Westchester located at 11022 Aviation Boulevard (cross street 111th).  The same organization owns both Whiskey Red's and The Proud Bird.  Parking is free.

 

Actually, it might quite fun and interesting as The Proud Bird is is an hold historical aviation restaurant and was recently reopened after undergoing a major remodel.  When we learned that our meeting space was not available Jeff Kim responded quickly and efficiently for us to be able to meet on our regular meeting day.  We certainly did not want to cancel the meeting as we have some VERY SPECIAL surprises on the agenda for tomorrow.  Additionally, we have a wonderful program planned as Rotarian Lindsay Thomas will be giving us an overview of Mar Vista Family Center which is the organization that provides our needy families for the Holiday Adopt-A-Family program.  

 

It is also with sadness that we say farewell and thank to member Pam Wolf of the Marina del Rey Hospital staff for her service to our club.  Pam is retiring from the hospital and moving out of the area.  Tomorrow is her last meeting with the club and we hope you will all attend to say good-by and thank you.  Pam has been a member for 5 years and has been instrumental in the hospital's participation with Playa Venice Sunrise!

We are putting a lot of time and effort into our Membership Retreat dinner on Friday and many of you have not responded.  Please RSVP so that we can finalize our plans including ordering the proper amount of food for dinner and of course, did I say wine??!!

 

If you are coming to the dinner on Friday, please also send Christina Davis a pic of you as a baby, young child or teenager.  Like I said, we plan to have some fun and fellowship however we cannot do it without you.  Christina's email: christina@laxcoastal.com
