Dear Playa Venice Rotarians & Friends,
Now that some restaurants and businesses have opened (yay, Cantalini’s and Tony P’s!), let’s all get out there and support them (safely...). Hopefully all those who have been out of work or shut down will soon be on the path to normalcy. Never wanted normal so badly!
Thank you to those who participated in last week’s special visit from General Secretary John Hewko. If you missed it, here is a link to the video (only available for a few more days). You can skip right to Introductions at timecode 8:15, or to John’s Presentation at timecode 12:00.
We had a great Happy Hour last week – it was wonderful to just hang with fellow members and get to know each other better! Speaking of Happy... you are all invited to compete, on behalf of Playa Venice, in the official district Masters of Mixology. If your video is selected, the club will receive a special award at the district conference. Here’s the info:
“Get creative and submit a video of your cocktail making skills. Governor Melody will pick her favorite cocktail- and try the recipes herself! Think fun glassware, exotic garnishes, shocking colors- the more creative the better!”
Submit your cocktail video this week here:
Tomorrow morning’s meeting will feature the one and only Jerry Jen as he gives us personal insights into his life, and some of his plans for next year as President. We’ll gather at 7:30a, start at 8:00, then end by 9. Come support your incoming Prez!!!

Thank you to all
members who continue to make a difference in the community... I know
everyone is doing their part, but special shout-out to
Nora MacLellan who continues to connect dots, yielding 130 more shields and 200 more ear savers to California hospital – in partnership with Glendale Community College and Remax. Also 25 additional shields in partnership with Westchester Community moms. Also to
Bobbie Casalino-Lewis who continues to deliver for Westside Pacific Villages – if you want to volunteer (grocery trips, errands, support calls) go to
www.thewpv.org. Bobbie also will be delivering 7 large bags of shoes tomorrow (last chance tonight!) to
Soles 4 Souls – thanks
Gail, Rob, and anyone else who donated shoes! And finally thanks to
Glenn and Kristen Hemanes for getting out there and helping to clean up last week! Go PVS Rotarians!

Looking forward to Jerry's year!!!
