Greetings
Rotarians & Friends!
What a wonderful meeting we had last week! We welcomed Architect Steven Erlich who spoke with us about the many interesting projects he has been involved in including his own home in Venice and the incredible and sustainable projects he designed in Morocco. Mr. Erlich will be working with Luc and Maria at the Jacaranda School in Malawi.

Speaking of Malawi,
our Director of International Service,
Richard Shelton, shared a sweet video of our Goats frolicking with the proud women who
now have a business from which they
can support their families!
We are grateful to Gail and Rob who pledged another ten Goats to be added to the herd!
🐐🐐🐐🐐  So inspiring!  🐐🐐🐐🐐

* DISTRICT ASSEMBLY  *

This past Saturday, we attended the District Assembly in Burbank. The theme for incoming District Governor Alex’s year is
“Rotary Superheroes – Together We Serve, Together We Transform Lives” -
and boy did he dress the part!
There was lots of energy, fellowship,
and many opportunities for training incoming Board Members.

Our own DGN Brady Connell handled organizing the production of this year's assembly and our Current Club Treasurer, Lucy Wegner,
led the Class on “Secretary” –
So proud of our club and their willingness to lead! I really love the Rotary International
Theme for 2025-2026: “Unite for Good!”

✈️   🇺🇸  HONOR FLIGHT   🇺🇸 ✈️
Our Club is proud to support the Honor Flight Southland Program who transports Veterans to see the Veteran’s Memorials in Washington DC.
This year we had the honor of helping Three (3) WWII Veterans, Six (6) Veterans from the Korean War and 27 Vietnam Veterans.

We are grateful to Rotarian Bonnie Cullinan for providing the Storage and the use of her Truck which allows the transportation of 35 wheelchairs for these incredible Vets!
Thank you to Garrett and Matthew for Driving, our Community Service Director Martha and Program Chair Gwen for the late night drop off and the heavy lifting of unloading the chairs at the Airport.
Incredible effort and so meaningful!!

The Honor Flight Southland presented a beautiful plaque to Gwen for her long time support and leadership of this Program.
We are all so enormously proud!

Quote of the Week

" ... And the spirit fills
the darkness of the heavens,
it fills the endless yearning of the soul,
it lives within a star too far to dream of,
it lives within each part and is the whole.”
