I am so pleased and proud of the results of the Cultural Dinner held last Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Our Argentinian theme It Takes You to Tango was a big hit! We must acknowledge and thank Lisa Schwab for the amazing meal she created and Debbie Silva and Zack Coffman for their beautiful tango performance. 170 people showed up to celebrate with us, raise money and honor our great friend Garrett Smith with the Sunrise Community Service Award. The financial results will be shared at our Rotary meeting tomorrow morning. We have a unique opportunity that came from our event - the donation of a fabulous vacation home at the 5-Star Sea Island Resort off the coast of Georgia. Special thank you to Lindsay Thomas and her mother Linda who donated this amazing "cottage" to our auction. A 1-week stay at Cottage 155 at Sea Island Resort has a value ranging from $13,300 to $17,000 depending on time of year. We have put the item on an online auction for 2 weeks beginning 7:00 a.m. this morning and running through 8:00 p.m. on November 7, 2017. The opening minimum bid is $7,500 and there is a "Buy It Now" price of $10,000.

We will have the lovely Greta Rose give a craft talk tomorrow at our meeting. Craft talks are always very interesting and fascinating as we get to know our members. Don't forget that Wednesday, November 1 is our semi-annual "Bring A Friend" to Rotary meeting.
