Dear Playa Venice Rotarians & Friends,
This is the final newsletter for the Rotary year 2019-20. Your next newsletter will come in a few weeks from your awesome new President, Jerry Jen. We are all lucky to have Jerry as our incoming President... he is a hard-working, thoughtful, and kind-hearted Rotarian who has served the club well in many capacities – he always does a great job, with a smile on his face. We’re all behind you and your board, Jerry!
Tomorrow, Wednesday July 24 is my last meeting as President. We’ll be visited by some of the awesome Venice High Interactors, we’ll “hand out” some awards, and we’ll enjoy a photo year-in-review. We gather at 7:30a, start at 8:00, and finish by 9.

This Sunday night, July 28, 6:00pm is the official Induction of Jerry and his board, and the announcement of Rotarian of the Year. Please mark your calendar – Gwen will be sending a separate email with Zoom info, so keep an eye out for that!
Due to the Sunday night Induction, and because it is 4th of July week next week, we will not be having a meeting on July 1. Jerry’s first meeting will be July 8, calling to order at 8am.
The Hometown News Best of poll is happening right now, and closes Friday night! In order for your votes to count, you must vote for at least ten categories. Do it now so you don’t forget!
At the virtual district conference, the Club of Excellence winners were announced: Latinos Unidos won for small club, LA Cedars won for medium club, and Westchester won for large club. If you know members from those clubs, be sure to congratulate them!
It’s been a magical year for me, and I deeply appreciate the love and encouragement you’ve all given me. Playa Venice is an All-Star ship, and I was honored to have the steering wheel for this brief time.
Remember, Have Fun and Get it Done!
In Rotary service,
Brady
