A HAPPY & BUSY MONTH AHEAD!
Maria Davis contributed to the following:
October is truly the start of our beautiful holiday season:
Thursday October 13 is our long awaited Happy Hour at Brizo. We can celebrate the lovely season of Autumn together as the evening settles into night on our beautiful Marina 5:30pm -7:30 pm up on the Terrace.
Wednesday October 19 we will hold our annual fundraiser, the Cultural Dinner with the Theme “Arabian Nights” at the Elks Lodge at 6:00 pm. It is a sold out event because it is that awesome!
Friday October 21 to Sunday October 23 we will have a pizza booth at the annual Visitation Carnival 90045. It’s a great event to connect with the community and let them know about Rotary!
Sunday October 23, bright and early, is Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Santa Monica. Kristen Hemanes will lead us that morning for this meaningful event. More details coming directly from Kristen soon!
Wednesday October 26, Kurtis Sundblom will grace us with his very animated Craft Talk AND this is our Annual Halloween Meeting. Come to share this very fun breakfast meeting in your favorite Halloween Costume (optional) and join this hilarious time together. here's our group picture from last year's same meeting:
Friday October 28 is the Halloween Costume Progressive Dinner. This was such a big hit last year, we wanted to have this as an annual event. Everyone starts at The Frawley home for appetizers and libations (yummy food stuff with a lovely view of the Marina), a short walk to the Davis home for the main dish…and more libations. The final stop is the Plotkin/Barretti home for dessert.. It is a great way for adults to celebrate Halloween!
Wednesday November 2, is our Bring a friend to Rotary meeting! Who are your guests?
Saturday November 5, in the morning, ten of us will Rise against Hunger to package food. A small contribution, since up to 811 million people - about 10% of the world's population - regularly go to bed hungry!

CAMP PENDLETON
We delievered a truckload of diapers and other items to the families of Camp Pendleton! Thank you Ramona for leading that effort!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Build -A - Bear workshop
Thank you Kathrine Russell for leading a pack of more than 30 Rotarians and their families to this heart warming event! The children at USC Hospital are so deserving of this effort! Many of us finished the evening with a fellowship dinner at Cantalini’s.
"Watching the Rotarians, I was touched by the love and care that each one put into building their bear. Everyone was meticulously and cheerfully choosing the outfit as if it was for their own family!
I was reminded that “Nothing is small is done out of Love” and also what Mother Teresa said: Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.
I am truly grateful to be part of our beautiful Playa Venice Family!"
