Happy 2020, PVS Rotarians & Friends!
I sincerely hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a chance to spend time with friends and family... but now it’s time to reconnect with your Rotary family!...
In place of our January happy hour,
let’s go bowling this Saturday! Stephanie Davis, our Director of Club Service/fellowship has made arrangements at the Westchester Bowlero 6:00-8:00pm. We have 5 lanes reserved (up to 7 people per lane), so we have room for 35 bowlers. Plus, the
price has been reduced to $25 (if you’re bowling) and to $10 if you’re just there for the socializing and food (pizza and soda). If you need to loosen up those bowling legs, there is a full bar. Please RSVP (especially if you intend to bowl) directly to Stephanie at
westchesterhometown@yahoo.comor on the event page at
www.playavenice.orgbefore end of day tomorrow (Wed) so we can confirm the lanes with Bowlero. You can bring your payment that night – hope to see you there!
What a festive and spirited meeting we had on Dec 18 with Santa and the birthday fairy attending, plus giant Frosty! Thank you to Grant Francis for telling us all about plans for a Venice Heritage Museum. And a GIANT thank you to all the adopt-a-family teams, including the Venice High Interact team, for bringing holiday spirit to their families the following week. Let’s hear some heartwarming follow-up stories at the meeting tomorrow!
Congrats to all the Venice High School Jackets of Excellence recipients who received well-deserved academic recognition on Dec 20. Thank you to all who attended. Our club has supported the program since the very early days of the Venice Rotary Club!
The Boys and Girls Club of Venice Holiday party that same afternoon was fantastic: games, prizes, arts and crafts, singing, and the best Santa ever. Our club was a major sponsor of the event, and we had a great club turnout! Thank you Tracey Thompson Busa for organizing, and thank you volunteers Monica Lyons, Kayla Friedman-Barb, Jamie Altshule, Juliet Oman, Patrick Morehead, Carla Dickerson, Bonnie Cullinan, Gwen Vuchsas, Jim Vuchsas, Hilton Brown, and Peggy Glattes. Congrats to Gail Brooks for winning the most creative hat competition from the three club kid judges! I encourage everyone to participate next year – it was a blast!
TOMORROW– BE SURE TO BRING YOUR WRAPPED WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT! The funnier, the better! Don’t miss this great annual tradition - Dave Voss will do the honors. This is your chance to get rid of that Christmas tree bulletin board you’ll never use!
THIS YEAR & DECADE– LET’S KEEP IMPROVING THE WORLD, ONE DEED AT A TIME!
