Grant has lived in Westchester almost all of his life, and loves working on all sorts of reunions. One project was the Centennial Celebration of Venice High, in 2011, where thousands of people had a wonderful weekend reunion. A lot of money was given back to the school, and a Guinness worlds record was broken, for the largest skateboard parade. During his thirty-five years at Venice High School, he was chairman of the Industrial Education Department, Technical Director of the Performing Arts Dept., the first men’s volleyball coach, Stagecraft Consultant for the L.A.U.S.D., past faculty association president. He has received the PTSA Honorary Service Award, and the Alumni Associations Alumnus of the Year. Grant taught wood shop, leadership, stage crew, typing, education career planning, and life skills at Venice High School. He retired from Venice High in June of 2001. Grant loves traveling with his lovely wife Judy. Some of their trips have included: Africa, Alaska, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Cuba, Fiji, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, (where he ran with the bulls), Thailand, Tahiti, and China. They have four children, Gina, Julia, Adam, and Aaron; and four grandchildren – Ariel, Shea, Bodhi, and Kaaden. |

Together with our partners, Rotarians promote peace, prevent and cure disease, provide clean water and sanitation, improve the health of mothers and children, support basic education and literacy, and provide economic and community development. The World Peace Conference 2020 will give each of us, Rotarians and non-Rotarians from all sectors of society, an opportunity to come together, learn from experts, become inspired and leave with immediate action plans to implement within our communities. Together, we can make the changes needed to create world peace! The mission of the World Peace Conference 2020 is to bring together experts with solutions to major issues that are occurring in our personal lives, homes, schools, businesses, and communities, not just in Southern California, but, also, around the world. We are inviting leaders from health care, academia, government, public safety, religions, business, and communities to meet together to share the solutions presented by experts. The format will allow for action plans to be developed such that real and measurable actions can be undertaken when attendees return home. In addition, the conference will showcase learnings and positive change that have occurred in the four years, since the Rotary World Peace Conference 2016. |

Ramona was born in Philadelphia less than one year after her only sibling, Kevin. Their father was a paratrooper in the US Army and the family traveled around the world and country, moving every three years. They lived in Hawaii, Panama, Germany, New Mexico, and finally settled in Philadelphia which was her parents' hometown. Ramona went to high school in Philadelphia and studied business administration at Temple University in Philadelphia. She moved to California the day after she received her bachelor's degree, and has never looked back! Ramona has lived all over Los Angeles, but Playa Vista has been her home since 2003. She feels her greatest accomplishments are her two children, Kimi (age 24) a Sr. Software Consultant and Kendall (age 20), an Airman in the US Air Force. As an empty-nester, Romona has had the opportunity to focus on her business as a financial advisor and spend more time with her husband Darryl. Together they enjoy traveling, planning getaways with family and friends, and pursuing a healthy lifestyle (although they enjoy a good Philly cheesesteak every once in a while). |

Mary was born and raised in Los Angeles. Born from Korean immigrant parents, she learned to speak in Konglish (Korean + English) quite well. Mary took advantage of her ability to study abroad as a college student and traveled to Spain and South Korea. After college she realized that her love for LA was bringing her back. She loves everything about communities and lives to serve the people around her. She graduated from a program called Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership. Through the program, she lived in the slums of Brazil in order to learn from the people around her. It was a life changing experience that led her to the values of living justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly. She then began her City career with the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment and now works for the Los Angeles World Airports, LAX Community Relations division. |

Paola's parents are from Sardegna (Italy). They immigrated to Switzerland (the French Part) where she and her older sister were born and raised. Her summer vacations were spent in Italy visiting extended family, either in Sardegna or other parts of Italy.
In Switzerland, Paola earned a CFC in business administration, focusing on accounting. All of the big corps were asking for English speaking recruits, so she came to Southern California as an au pair in 1989. She stayed for a year and went to Santa Monica College to learn English as a second language. She fell in love with the people, the California way of living and so much more! Paola's cousin Marinella was curious about her description of California and followed Paola as an au pair in 1989, and is still here today.
In 1990 Paola went back to Switzerland, but she returned to LA in 1994, 3 days prior the Northridge Earthquake. Paola is still shaking and rattled to this day, however, it did not, ultimately, send her back to Switzerland. She is single, professional, loving her community, family, friends, and ready to give back and make a small difference.
